We are looking for a person who loves food; a person who will nurture people whilst developing our food-led community initiatives and forge strong networks with members of the community.
The Broomhouse Hub is located in an area of high poverty which can result in restricted access to fresh food and minimal cooking skills. The Food Manager will work to inspire, encourage and empower our members and stakeholders to gain the skills and knowledge to support a positive shift to reduce food poverty.
This role requires a creative and experienced individual to lead the operation, developing our trainees in Space Kitchen which encompasses our Café, community events, outside catering and on-site hospitality.
Space Kitchen works with Space Training Academy which supports young people and adults, many with complex barriers to employment, to develop the skills and confidence to move into work. The Food Manager will create a supportive and welcoming environment to enable staff, trainees and volunteers to achieve positive progressions through structured, documented, training programmes.
The Food Manager role requires a hands-on approach and holds responsibility for the management of the Space Kitchen team.
