Come see us at the North Edinburgh Community Festival and pop in to The Hub for a Community Meal on Ooni Day!
We were so delighted by the turnout last week as our social enterprise, Outta Space Pizza, set up stall to hand out free pizzas as part of Pizza Geeks‘ annual Pizza for the People initiative!
We know that people have been asking for more of that doughy goodness, and we’re happy to share that you can grab a slice of the Outta Space Pizza action at two more events this month!
This weekend, Fin and the team will be taking the outside catering setup over to West Pilton Park for the North Edinburgh Community Festival as part of our Powered By Ooni programme! If you’re in the area, pop along between 12pm and 5pm this Saturday and say hi! There’s loads of great fun to be had, with one-of-a-kind workshops, arts and crafts, live music, and even a parade!
Join us for a Community Meal this Ooni Day!
As part of our partnership with Ooni, we’ll be holding a Community Meal next week in support of their annual Ooni Day celebrations! We’ll be hosting it on Friday 19th May, between 12pm and 4pm right here in our community café. Ooni Day is for recognising the incredible power of pizza in bringing people together. It’s a day for connecting with friends, neighbours and the community. That sounds like exactly our kind of thing!
But it’s not just about the pizza itself, Ooni Day also helps people across the globe. This year, Ooni will donate $60,000 to charities fighting global hunger. Not only that, but for every pizza made and registered on Ooni Day they will donate £1 to each of their charity partners (that includes us!). The goal this year is to reach 44,000 pizzas total, so why not pop in to The Hub next Friday and help us do our part to hit that target?
This will be a great opportunity for the community to come together and share the joy of pizza with one another, so we would love to see you all there! As with all of our Community Meals, this will be completely free to attend thanks to The National Lottery Community Fund Scotland and National Lottery players!
