Our Pick ‘n’ Mix for Employment project is part of our Space Training Academy. It is a project to help young people age 16-24 find out more about the world of work and feel confident about their future!

There are a number of different sessions to get involved with, from wellbeing to employability, job tasters and one to one planning sessions, the options are there for you to choose.

Pick ‘n’ Mix has been a successful project in the past. Supported by The National Lottery Young Start Fund, Pick ‘n’ Mix puts young people in charge of their own learning and development, allowing them to make the choices they feel are most suited to their needs.

Learning and Wellbeing Service Manager at Space, Lyndsey Fischer said:

“Pick ‘n’ Mix is just one of our varied employability and training projects. We recognise that everyone learns in a different way and has different needs. This is why projects like ours are so important. They empower people to take control of their career path, gaining the skills and knowledge they need along the way.

“There is also a big focus on wellbeing. Often one of the biggest problems isn’t a lack of talent, it is simply a lack of confidence or self belief. Our wellbeing sessions offer a chance to make new friends, relax a little and take the pressure off. It is a big help to people who struggle with anxiety for example.”

Zoe took part in a video talking about her experiences for our AGM. You can see here interview below. Also featured is Wissam who is a member of our BAME Women’s Group. This is a specific session for ladies from the BAME community and operates on a rolling basis. New members are always welcome!
