Our Young Adult Carers Group had a well deserved residential trip to Glencoe recently where they took part in numerous activities and had a chance to relax and unwind.
Supported by Hebridean Pursuits Outdoor Learning, the group did not just view the amazing scenery, but took an active part in in, stream scrambling, climbing and walking.
The weather for the two day trip was perfect with some stunning sunsets over the dramatic landscape. The trip is part of our work to support carers of all ages looking after close relatives and siblings. Often these additional responsibilities, alongside school and the demands of day to day life means that carers do not have as much time for themselves. They do not have the opportunities to socialise with their peers or may limit employment opportunities, selflessly, to provide the care they do. That is why residential trips like this, with other people who have similar life experiences is so important for overall wellbeing and mental health.
You can support our work through our Just Giving Page if you like.
